John Yu, DDS
Endodontist
Dr. Yu was awarded "Top Endodontist", a honor given to him by his referring dentists. Dr. Yu takes great pride in the trust that all his referring dentists have in him. When a general dentist himself or herself is in need of endodontic treatment or advice, Dr. Yu is their preferred choice. Having treated many dentists and their staff, Dr. Yu is confident in his ability to provide you with the best endodontic care possible.
Dr. Yu graduated from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in 2005. He then completed a selective General Practice Residency program at the Veterans Administrations Sepulveda Hospital in Northridge where he cared for medically complex dental patients and performed dental surgery under general anesthesia. Having discovered a passion for endodontics, Dr. Yu returned to Columbia University to complete his specialty training and certificate in Endodontics. Dr. Yu has been practicing dentistry for 15 years. He is board-eligible by the American Board of Endodontics.
After his specialty training, Dr. Yu worked in a busy endodontic group practice for five years. In 2013 he founded EndoCare Center in the city of San Gabriel, and in 2014, Irvine. In the last twelve years as a root canal specialist, he has performed over 18,000 endodontic procedures and more than five hundred endodontic surgeries.
In addition to English, Dr. Yu is fluent in Mandarin and Taiwanese. In his free time, Dr. Yu enjoys swimming, tennis and golf.
Dr. Yu is a member of the American Association of Endodontists, American Dental Association, California Dental Association and San Gabriel Valley Dental Society. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Chinese American Dental Society of Southern California and Irvine Heritage Medical Plaza.
